Cold Spray Principle: Compressed air accelerates metal particles to a critical velocity (supersonic speed). After the metal particles directly hit the substrate surface, they undergo physical deformation. The metal particles flatten on the substrate surface and adhere firmly. During the whole process, the metal particles are not melted, but if the metal particles do not reach supersonic speed, they cannot adhere.
Advantages of cold spray over traditional thermal spray:
1. First, the surface temperature of the substrate sprayed should not exceed 150 degrees instantaneously;
2. The perceived temperature is 70 degrees;
3. Good spraying density;
4. Coatings of any thickness can be sprayed.
5. It can be sprayed on any metal, glass, ceramic and rock surface.
